Doisneau

In class we have been working on photographs and photographers and our teacher told us to do a presentation about Robert Doisneau. I did it with Manex and it was very difficult because we didn't like the photographers technique. However, I think that we did a good job.




Now, I’m going to talk you about a picture that I took that is the firts photo that was took by us. In this photo, you can see a very similar photo to the one that Doisneau strated taking after the WWII because it’s a very playful photo where you can observe children playing in the street of a city. It’s also a spontaneous photo a caracteristic that was common in Doineau despite the fact that critics has argued more than once if he uses to prepare his photos, specially the one of the kiss that I told you before. In this blac and white photo we can see six chlidren playing in la Plaza San Telmo in Donosti. The three children at the front are playing with the roulette. One is pushing it while other one is trying tu put on the roulette and the other one seems to be thinking about something due to her facial expression. The two children at the middle-back are trying to go up the structure amd maybe tongo down then jumping or down the swing. Finally, we can see the child in the background that is watching how the other two are going up and maybe she is upset because she wants to do the same but she can’t because it’s not big enough to go up. In conclusion, we can see a photo that has the same characterustic of the ones that Doisneau had taken, because it is in black and white and it shows us children playing in the street without parents looking after them.

Gestalt theory

In class we've been working on Gestal theory. Gestalt is an important trend in psychology, it was born in Germany at the beginning of the 20th century with Christian von Ehrenfels. Gestalt would be similar to totality or unify whole so, 'the whole is more than the sum of its parts'.

We've seen different laws such as similarity, continuation, closure, proximity...here are some examples:

Basic photography

Today we're going to be talking about the topic of basic photography. We've been watching some videos about basic photography in class so, the teacher asked us to add a couple of pictures we took.

Here is the one with a small Depth of Field:

In this photo we can see a pencil case in the foreground and a bracelete in the background. I tried to concentrate on the foreground to gave proximity. It wasn't difficult to take the photo because I only had to take a pencil case and a bracete and take them a photo.

Here is the one with the slow Shutter Speed:

In this photo we can see Real Sociedad's player Willian Jose in Anoeta warming up and his left leg gives us the impression of movement, adding a point of contrast to it. This one was very difficult to take because he was moving.

Photographer's Tips

We've read and listen to different photographers tips in their job. One Australian boy and another Indian and now we have to choose some tips from the videos.

              Rule of odds: this photo was easy to take because I had to take three balls and take them a picture.                                                  
      Check the  background: this one is my favourite because I went with my friend Eneko to see a football match Euskadi-Venezuela, Euskadi won and we had a very good time. The photo wasn't difficult to take because we asked a man to take us the photo.


                                                                





 Framed: Here you can see how I used the frame technique because there are two frames in the photo. The photo was easy to take but we had to search for a place to take it and that was difficult!                                                      Golden hour: In this photo you can

                                                                    do paddle surf and we had very
                                                                    good time. The photo was easy to
                                                                    take but you had to take in the exact                                                                     moment.
