TAXI DRIVER

In class we've been told to see a film and to do an analysis of it. I've seen Taxi Driver which is a 1976 American psychological thriller film. It was  directed by Martin Scorsese,  written by Paul Schrader and performed by  Robert De Niro, Jodie Foster, Cybill Shepherd, Harvey Keitel, Peter Boyle, Albert Brooks and Leonard Harris. It was set in a decaying New York City .
In this film, Travis Bicklea, a Vietnam veteran; finds that his life has been changed after returning America from the battle-field. He suffers from insomnia which leads him to take a job as a taxi-driver. He works at night and many of his consumers are prostitutes, adulterous people...While he is drivind the taxi becomes infatuated with Betsy, a campaign volunteer for Senator and presidential candidate Charles Palantine. So, he enters to volunter. As the film continues, Travis is disgusted by the sleaze, dysfunction, and prostitution that he witnesses throughout the city. After some disliking events that he witnesses, he tries to stop all the problems killing Palantine but he doesn't succeed. At that night, he goes to a strip club and kills some people but he is severely injured. Finally, he recovers and starts again working as a taxi driver.

The main character is Travis Bickle and some of the characters that have importance in the film are: Betsy(the girl that Bickle likes), Palantine( the Senator and who Bickle try to kill) and Iris( a young prostitute).

My favourite scene is when Bickle saves a man's life from a robbery and then, the owner takes responsibility for the deed, taking Travis' handgun. I think that the things that Biclkes sees at night motivated him to do this action(killing the robber). After this, Travis Bickle starts to become more crazy and to kill more people.

In Taxi Driver, Scorsese manages his camera angles and editing to give importance to  Travis seeing the world through glass or mirrors, especially the mirror of the taxi, through which all major characters enter Taxi Driver: Betsy through the panes of an all glass office; Palantine through his rear-view mirror; and Iris and Sport in a fleeting glance in his mirror. As Travis meets with a black-market gun dealer, and in this scene the weapon literally becomes the organ of perception. Scorsese situates his camera on Travis' arm as that arm takes the weapon and slowly pans it across the window looking down on the street below. But, I think that the film was so slow. The music is quite well because it engages you and ut suits with all the scenes.

With this film, I learnt how people return from war, specially from Vietnam, and all the problems that are in big cities, in this case in NY. I think that Scorsese tries to critisice all this problems and that's OK because he does constructive criticism. This film is given in the list because it shows the consecuences of one of the biggest issues in the 20th century, the Vietnam War.

THE FINAL PRESENTATION

Hi again!
We finished with the presentations of the Challenge to the company and Fomento of
San Sebastian. In this entry we are going to answer some questions about the project and
add our final presentation.
Here the questions (go into details, long answers):
1. Detail your idea:
A spreading cream with Krissia.

2. Two virtues:
Easy to carry and a good way of eating fish.

3. Two problems and your response:
There are similar products that could make competence easily and that is why we created
a uniquedesign for the jar of the product with the   distinguishable colour of krissia.

4. How to make it real? What do you need to make it possible:
To make it real we need money and help from sponsors and companies.

5. Which points of the challenge do you address with your proposition:
The requirements of the product were:
-Promote the consume of fish
-Focus on children
-Use krissia
-Come up with a realistic idea
And we fulfill them all.

6. Which technical help do you need:
We have needed the technical help of the visual thinker (Javier de Miguel), Iñigo who
helped us developing our ideas and Ainhoa who gave us some advice.

7. Why is your project the best possible?

Now a days, we prefer to eat without complicating in cooking. But even if we like simplicity,
we want to eat healthy. Our product reaches these two important objectives.

EVALUATION:
+This project had been a very interesting journey for all of us. It helped us knowing
ourselves better, learning to work in teams, gaining knowledge about the market…
It has been grate in a lot of ways.

VISUAL THINKING

Last Monday Javier de Miguel Garay came to our class of audio visuals and he gave
us a master class in Visual Thinking. He taught us how to do a pill and gave us some
simple and very practical tips. Here is a picture of the pill that we did:🔝🔝

CHALLENGE WORK

Hi!

We have decided to do a spreading cream with Krissia, which will be similar to pate. It will look like this:
To help developing our idea Iñigo and Ainhoa came to give us some advice. Iñigo really helped us because with his interesting points we could organice well the project. To my point of view, Ainhoa didn't help us because we already  knew what she told us. Iñigo told us to do a canvas and a swot.

ENTRY TO THE CHALLENGE

Hi again!

As we are in the second term we have started a new project. We are doing a project with
Angulas Aguinaga, using their product: Krissia. The purpose of the project is making kids eat
more fish. They came to our class to give us some tools of how to come up with a new product
of Krissia. Our class had been divided in groups of 4 people to work on it and these are in my
 group: LIDE; PATXI; MANEX; NEREA.

END OF FIRST TERM

We've just finished the first term. I think that we've done a good job even if they were boring. What I liked most was the job that we did for the European day of languages because it was about football and I really enjoy it. I think that the subject it's not ao interesting but in fact, it isn't so bad because we don't have to study.

Doisneau

In class we have been working on photographs and photographers and our teacher told us to do a presentation about Robert Doisneau. I did it with Manex and it was very difficult because we didn't like the photographers technique. However, I think that we did a good job.

Now, I’m going to talk you about a picture that I took that is the firts photo that was took by us. In this photo, you can see a very similar photo to the one that Doisneau strated taking after the WWII because it’s a very playful photo where you can observe children playing in the street of a city. It’s also a spontaneous photo a caracteristic that was common in Doineau despite the fact that critics has argued more than once if he uses to prepare his photos, specially the one of the kiss that I told you before. In this blac and white photo we can see six chlidren playing in la Plaza San Telmo in Donosti. The three children at the front are playing with the roulette. One is pushing it while other one is trying tu put on the roulette and the other one seems to be thinking about something due to her facial expression. The two children at the middle-back are trying to go up the structure amd maybe tongo down then jumping or down the swing. Finally, we can see the child in the background that is watching how the other two are going up and maybe she is upset because she wants to do the same but she can’t because it’s not big enough to go up. In conclusion, we can see a photo that has the same characterustic of the ones that Doisneau had taken, because it is in black and white and it shows us children playing in the street without parents looking after them.

I hope you’ve liked the presentation🤪🤪

Gestalt theory

In class we've been working on Gestal theory. Gestalt is an important trend in psychology, it was born in Germany at the beginning of the 20th century with Christian von Ehrenfels. Gestalt would be similar to totality or unify whole so, 'the whole is more than the sum of its parts'.

We've seen different laws such as similarity, continuation, closure, proximity...here are some examples:

Basic photography

Today we're going to be talking about the topic of basic photography. We've been watching some videos about basic photography in class so, the teacher asked us to add a couple of pictures we took.

Here is the one with a small Depth of Field:
In this photo we can see a pencil case in the foreground and a bracelete in the background. I tried to concentrate on the foreground to gave proximity. It wasn't difficult to take the photo because I only had to take a pencil case and a bracete and take them a photo.

Here is the one with the slow Shutter Speed:
In this photo we can see Real Sociedad's player Willian Jose in Anoeta warming up and his left leg gives us the impression of movement, adding a point of contrast to it. This one was very difficult to take because he was moving.

Photographer's Tips

We've read and listen to different photographers tips in their job. One Australian boy and another Indian and now we have to choose some tips from the videos.

Rule of odds: this photo was easy to take because I had to take three balls and take them a picture.
Check the  background: this one is my favourite because I went with my friend Eneko to see a football match Euskadi-Venezuela, Euskadi won and we had a very good time. The photo wasn't difficult to take because we asked a man to take us the photo.

Framed: Here you can see how I used the frame technique because there are two frames in the photo. The photo was easy to take but we had to search for a place to take it and that was difficult!                                                      Golden hour: In this photo you can
see me with my team. We went to
do paddle surf and we had very
good time. The photo was easy to
take but you had to take in the exact                                                                     moment.

LETTERING

In class we are going to work with lettering. To work on it, we have to write the word WELCOME in different languages and calligraphy. For me it is very difficult because I am not use to do it and we have to write a lot of words in many different calligraphys.

The teacher told us to take some pictures in the street of different types of lettering and its importance in marketing the product, our impression or its interest. I took this three pictures.

Here we can see todotodo written in white capital letter circled by blue colour.  This type of lettering helps to attract people to go and buy there.

Here we can see Mapfre written in white capital letter circled by red colour. This type of letter helps to attract people to have new clients.

Here we can see the word Tompai in capital letter circled by blue colour and eyes. This type of lettering helps to stand out people to go there take a photo and maybe to buy something.

TRAVEL MARKETING

The teacher has told us to do a  Pechakucha about a city or country of Europe. Manex and I have done a presentation about the best city of ...
